What changed on Mode recently (reviewed 22 Aug 2026)
- The Holocene hard fork activated on Mode mainnet on 9 January 2025 18:00:01 UTC and required op-geth >= v1.101411.2 and op-node >= v1.10.0 with --override.holocene=1736445601. source ↗
- Optimism ended support for op-geth on 31 May 2026; op-geth does not support the Karst hardfork, so OP Stack node operators are told to migrate to op-reth v2.2.3 or later while op-node continues. source ↗
- Mode's own node-operator guidance has not been refreshed since the Jan 2025 Holocene notice and its recommended rollup-node repo was last updated in April 2024 (latest mainnet snapshot dated 3 September 2024), so current client versions must be taken from Optimism/Conduit rather than Mode docs. source ↗

Does Argusnodes run Mode archive nodes and trace methods?
Yes. Mode's documentation describes full-history operation; we run Mode archive nodes from $799/mo with trace and historical queries unmetered. Debug and trace methods are on for full nodes too, within their state window.
Can I run a Mode validator with Argusnodes?
An OP-stack L2 with a sequencer; official docs cover RPC and replica nodes only. We run every node type the chain actually offers and none it does not.
Can I migrate my Mode endpoint from QuickNode, Chainstack or another provider?
Yes. A dedicated Mode node speaks the same JSON-RPC and WebSocket interfaces as the shared endpoint you use today, so migration is pointing your application at your own endpoint. Billing is monthly with no lock-in on our side, and support engineers are on the channels 24/7 during cutover.
Which city should I pick for my Mode node?

Are there rate limits or connection caps on a dedicated Mode node?
No artificial ones. The machine is yours alone, so the hardware is the only ceiling: if it can serve the request, you can send it. There is no per-plan connection cap because there is no plan tier.
How do I pay for my Mode node, and can I cancel?
