Both cost you. Shared plans meter everything: cheap at first, then you pay per request, per connection, per "premium" method. Dedicated plans elsewhere remove the meter, but add an enterprise markup and still decide what your node can do. Plain answers, no sales fog. Definition ## What is a dedicated RPC node? A dedicated RPC node is a physical server that runs a blockchain client **exclusively for you**. Your applications talk to the chain through it: reading state, streaming events, sending transactions. Nobody else's traffic touches the machine, so its full throughput, every RPC method, and every open connection belongs to your workload alone. The alternative is shared RPC: a provider runs a cluster and sells thousands of customers slices of it. To keep the cluster alive, they must meter everyone, which is why shared plans come with requests-per-second tiers, connection caps, credit systems, and "premium method" surcharges for heavy calls like debug\_ and trace\_. A dedicated node has none of that, because none of it is needed. There is one tenant. If the hardware can serve it, you can send it. ## What is a private RPC endpoint? A private RPC endpoint is the address your applications call, served by a node nobody else uses. A public or shared endpoint is one cluster answering thousands of customers, which is why it is rate limited. A private endpoint on a dedicated node answers only your applications: on your own domain if you want one, locked to the IP addresses you allowlist, with no rate limit because there is nobody to share with. Some providers call a personal API key on a shared cluster a "private endpoint". That is a private key to a shared machine. Ask which one you are buying. ## When shared RPC stops making sense Shared endpoints are the right choice for prototypes and small apps. They stop making sense at a predictable set of moments: - **You get rate limited at the worst time.** Trading bots and MEV searchers lose exactly the transactions that mattered. - **Backfills eat your credit budget.** Indexers running archive queries burn through metered plans in days. - **Connection caps break real-time UX.** Wallets and dApps hit WebSocket limits as usage grows. - **The bill scales with your success.** Per-request pricing means growth is punished, not rewarded. - **The provider refuses your chain.** Shared clusters only exist for chains with mass demand. Any one of these is the signal to move. At sustained volume, a flat-price dedicated node is usually cheaper than the metered bill it replaces, and it is always faster. ## What to demand from a dedicated node provider "Dedicated" is used loosely in this market. Some providers sell virtualised slices or managed servers that still carry plan caps. Before you pay anyone, including us, demand: - **Bare metal, single tenant.** Not a VM, not a "dedicated cluster" shared with anyone. - **No artificial limits.** No requests-per-second tiers, no connection caps, all methods enabled. - **Measured, not promised.** Live p50/p99 latency for the actual machine, in your dashboard. - **Your configuration.** Choice of client, sync method, and workload tuning. - **One flat price.** If trace calls, support, or your own domain cost extra, it is a meter with better marketing. This checklist is our spec sheet. Every Argusnodes node passes it by construction: see [what others cap, meter, or refuse](/why-us). ## How an Argusnodes dedicated node works You pick the chain and the node type: full, archive, or validator. You choose the client, sync method, and tuning for your workload (bot and MEV focused, transaction-heavy, or indexing), plus the city it deploys in. We build the machine, sync it, tune it, and hand you the endpoint on your own domain with IP allowlisting, live p50/p99 latency in your dashboard, and humans on call 24/7. Pricing is a flat monthly figure from four standard bands, starting at $99 and topping out at $999 for Solana's own hardware class. Every capability is included in the band price. At low volume, no provider beats a free tier. At sustained production volume the comparison flips: one flat band price replaces a metered bill that grows every month. Most customers switch when their shared bill first exceeds a band price. [See the bands.](/pricing) #### Which chains can I get a dedicated node for? Each item the market meters exists to ration a shared machine. Remove the sharing and the meter has no job to do. [Who we are and how we work →](/about) DECISION 01 ### Dedicated only. Nothing shared, ever. Rate limits, connection caps and surcharges on heavy methods protect a cluster that thousands of tenants lean on at once. Your node has one tenant. Every connection and every call it can serve is yours, so there is nothing left to meter. DECISION 02 ### Provisioned on order. Nothing runs until it is paid for. A shared provider must pre-run every chain it lists, so its coverage stops where its capex stops. For us a new chain costs a runbook, not a rack. That is why the answer to "do you run X" is yes, including chains nobody else will. DECISION 03 ### Whole machine, one price. You rent the server, not a slice of it. Everything the hardware can do comes at one monthly figure: your client, your tuning, your domain, every interface switched on. The only ceiling is the hardware, and you choose the hardware. Source: https://argusnodes.com/faq Frequently asked # Straight answers. Everything customers ask before ordering, answered the way we would want it answered. Anything missing? Ask us on any channel and we’ll answer within the hour. ## The basics #### What is a dedicated RPC node? A physical server running a blockchain client exclusively for you. Your apps read the chain, stream events and send transactions through it, and nobody else’s traffic touches the machine. Full explanation on our [dedicated RPC node page](/dedicated-rpc-node). #### How is this different from QuickNode, GetBlock, Chainstack or other shared RPC providers? Shared providers sell slices of a cluster and meter every slice: rate-limit tiers, credits, surcharged methods. We hand you the whole machine at one flat monthly price with every capability enabled. No meter exists. #### What is a private RPC endpoint? An endpoint that only your applications use. It sits on a dedicated node that is yours alone, on your own domain if you want one, and answers only the IP addresses you allowlist. No other customer shares the machine, so there is no rate limit to hit and no one else’s traffic in your latency. #### Is "dedicated" really dedicated? Yes: bare metal, single tenant. Not a virtual machine, not a shared "dedicated cluster". Your quote names the hardware, and live p50/p99 for that machine sits in your dashboard. ## Ordering and go-live #### How fast do I get a price? Within the hour, around the clock. Tell us the chain and workload on the [contact page](/contact); you get a firm flat monthly figure, not a range. #### How long until my node is live? It depends on the chain: sync time is a function of chain history and hardware, and we would rather quote your case honestly than publish a number that is sometimes wrong. Your quote includes a go-live estimate for your exact configuration. #### Which chains do you support? Every chain with a running network: Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC, Arbitrum and hundreds more, including chains no other provider will run. Brand new chain? We research it, then run it. #### Can I choose the client and sync method? Yes. Client, sync method, and workload tuning (bot and MEV focused, transaction-heavy, or indexing) are your call. Not sure? Tell us the workload and we spec it for you. #### Can I try a node before I order? We do not run free trials. Ask us for a latency report for your chain and city and you see the numbers before you order. Billing is monthly with no lock-in, so you can cancel at the end of any month. #### Can I pick where the node runs? Yes: 20+ Tier-3 datacentres across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Pick the city at checkout; need one we don’t list, ask. ## Capabilities and limits #### Are there any rate limits? No artificial ones. The hardware is the only ceiling: if the machine can serve it, you can send it. #### Are debug, trace and other heavy methods included? Yes, on by default, at no extra charge. RPC, WebSocket, gRPC and LCD interfaces are all supported where the chain offers them. #### How many WebSocket connections can I open? Unlimited. There is no per-plan connection cap because there is no plan tier: the machine is yours. #### Can I use my own domain and restrict access? Yes. Point your own domain at the endpoint and lock access to an IP allowlist you control. Both included. #### Do you offer full, archive and validator nodes? All three, on every chain we run where the node type exists. ## Pricing and billing #### How does pricing work? Four standard bands, one flat monthly price per node, everything included: from $99 for light chains to $999 for Solana’s own hardware class. Every chain maps to exactly one band, so quotes are instant and never a surprise. #### Are premium add-ons extra? No. What other providers sell as premium add-ons (heavy methods, unlimited connections, custom domain, IP allowlisting, latency monitoring, 24/7 priority support) is free, in the band price. If a capability exists, it is included. #### Can I pay in crypto? Yes, with no KYC. Pay in crypto, or by Visa, Mastercard or bank transfer. Crypto is charged at the invoiced amount at the time of payment. Monthly billing, no long-term lock-in required. #### Can I cancel? Yes, at the end of any monthly term. Your node is provisioned for you alone, so there is no meter to escape and no exit fee. ## Proof and support #### How do I know the hardware is real? Every node runs on a machine that meets the chain’s official requirements with headroom on top, never at the minimum. Your quote names the machine, and live p50/p99 for your node streams to your dashboard from go-live. We publish measurements, not promises. #### What does the 99.99% SLA actually mean? A written uptime commitment with service credits when we miss it. The full measurement and credit schedule is on [the SLA page](/legal/sla). #### How do I reach support? Ticket, live chat, Telegram or Slack, 24/7, answered by engineers. There is no priority-support paywall; everyone gets the same response. #### Can you run a node on hardware I already own? Yes. We install, sync, tune and monitor nodes on your machines: same dashboard, same support, same no-limits setup. See [bring your own hardware](/bring-your-own-hardware). ## Question not on the sheet? Two strategies, depending on the workload: - **Serving applications:** deploy where your users are. Take the request count from your last historical sync and price it on any metered plan. Then compare a flat month of the [Archive band](/pricing). For most indexers the crossover happened long before they switched; they were paying a per-request tax on data they could have owned the pipe to. There is a second cost metered plans hide: retry logic. Rate-limited pipelines spend engineering time on backoff, batching around caps, and partial-failure recovery. A node with no caps deletes that whole class of code. Reorgs, resyncs and client upgrades are on us; your pipeline just reads. How a quote happens in an hour, how we source every fact we publish, and ten things we will not do. Source: https://argusnodes.com/about About # The watchman's job. Argusnodes is named after a watchman who could not be put to sleep, and it started in a one-bedroom flat a long way from anywhere. This page is the name, the mark, the method, and the things we refuse to do. The name ## A hundred eyes, and never all of them shut. In the Greek myth, Argus Panoptes ("all-seeing") had a hundred eyes across his body. When some slept, the rest stayed open, which made him the one guard in the world who could not be snuck past. Hera gave him her hardest job: watch Io, day and night, and let nobody near. He was finally beaten by a story. Hermes sat down beside him, played the pipes, and talked until the last eye closed. Hera, in mourning, set his eyes into the tail of the peacock, where they still are. We took the name for the first half and the warning from the second. A node is something that has to be watched all the time by someone who cannot be lulled. Dashboards that say green while p99 climbs, status pages that stay up while the node falls over, a "dedicated" plan that turns out to share a machine: those are the pipes. The job is to keep some eyes open regardless, and to report what they see, not what anyone would like to hear. Figure FIG. 01 · THE ARGUSNODES MARK Reads as EYE · REGISTRATION MARK Rev ■ B · APPROVED 15 AUG 2026 Where it started ## A one-bedroom flat, a long way from a hub. Argusnodes did not start in a datacentre, an accelerator, or a city you would guess. It started in a one-bedroom flat (a 1BHK, if you know the term) in a remote corner of Asia, far from the places where infrastructure companies usually begin. That matters more than it sounds. If you have ever tried to run serious infrastructure from far away, you already know what it is to be rate-limited, metered, and told that the thing you need is "enterprise only". We built the option we wanted to buy: the whole machine, every capability on, one flat price, and proof instead of promises. Nothing about that needs a head office. It needs a decision, made in advance, never to charge for things a machine already does. Started in A 1BHK · remote Asia Runs on Bare metal in 18 cities Not here yet Names, faces, dates: printed when real, never as placeholders The method ## How a quote happens in an hour. The hour is not a slogan. It is possible because most of the work is done before you ask. 01 ### You send the workload Chain, node type, and what you will throw at it: bursts, backfills, subscriptions. Three fields on the [contact page](/contact) or any chain page. 02 ### We pull the runbook Every researched chain already has one: clients, interfaces, sync method, storage, all taken from the chain's official documentation. New chain? We research it first, then quote. 03 ### Spec and flat price back One monthly figure from five public bands, hardware named, city chosen, nothing metered. If the workload needs a bigger machine, the quote says so and why. 04 ### Build, then watch The node is provisioned, synced and tuned for the workload, then watched: live p50 and p99 in your dashboard, humans on call 24/7. The sourcing rule ## Unknown stays blank. Every chain page on this site is built from two kinds of data, and we label which is which. Where the official documentation does not say, the field is left empty. We would rather show you a dash than a guess. That was the watchman's one mistake. Reading the sheets ## Why the site looks like an engineering drawing. Because the product is one: verifiable hardware, measured latency, a spec you can inspect. Every device on these pages is borrowed from drafting, and each one encodes something true about the content. | Convention | On a drawing | On this site | | --- | --- | --- | | **Title block** | The boxed strip under a drawing that says who drew it, when, and to what revision. | Under every figure and table: where the facts came from and when they were checked. | | **FIG. 01, 02, 03** | Numbered figures, so a drawing can be cited precisely. | Only real figures get a number: the latency chart, the configurator, the red-line ledger, this logo. | | **Dimension line** | A thin line with arrowheads giving a measured size. | The stat strips: SLA, cities, uplink, rate limit. Measured things only. | | **Red-line** | A correction marked in red ink on a drawing. | The struck-through add-on fees on the pricing page, corrected to zero. | | **REV B** | The revision letter. Every change gets a new one. | The design is on its second revision. Rev A was rejected for looking like everyone else. | | **Sheet** | One drawing in a set. | Every page is a sheet on the same grid paper. The 404 is "sheet not found". | How we can afford this ## Built on order, not on inventory. Shared providers must pre-run every chain they list, so their coverage stops where their capital stops, and their meters exist to protect overloaded clusters. We provision each node when it is ordered. No idle fleet to subsidise means no meter needed to protect it, and a chain nobody else will run costs us a runbook, not a datacentre. The full argument, line by line, is on the [Why Argusnodes](/why-us) page. ## Judge us on the numbers. Your node's live p50 and p99 are in the dashboard from the first hour. That is the point of it. Source: https://argusnodes.com/legal/sla Legal # Service Level Agreement Last updated: 15 August 2026 Every page of our site says "99.99% SLA, in writing". This is the writing. It applies to every Managed Node from Argusnodes. ## 1\. The commitment Each Managed Node will achieve **Monthly Uptime of at least 99.99%**: the node responds to RPC requests at its endpoint. Measured per node, per calendar month. ## 2\. How uptime is measured - Monthly Uptime = (minutes in month − Downtime minutes) ÷ minutes in month. - **Downtime** is any minute in which the node fails to respond to our external monitoring probes. The same p50/p99 monitoring you see in your dashboard is the record; you are watching the measurement system itself. - Partial degradation that still serves requests (for example elevated latency during a resync we initiated) is not Downtime unless the endpoint fails probes. ## 3\. What is excluded - Scheduled maintenance, announced at least \[72 hours\] ahead and capped at \[4 hours\] per node per month. - Failures of the blockchain network itself: chain halts, consensus failures, or a chain upgrade that breaks every node of that network. If the chain is down, no node on earth is up. - Suspension for non-payment or Acceptable Use violations. - Customer-caused outages, including configuration changes you requested against our advice. - For BYOH Services: hardware failure, facility, power or network faults of machines and sites you own. We commit to our response, not to your hardware. - Force majeure events beyond reasonable control. ## 4\. Service credits If a node's Monthly Uptime falls below the commitment, you receive a credit against that node's next monthly fee: - Below 99.99% and at or above 99.9%: **10%** credit. - Below 99.9% and at or above 99.0%: **25%** credit. - Below 99.0%: **50%** credit. Credits are claimed by any support channel within 30 days of the month's end, are capped at 100% of that node's monthly fee, and are the exclusive remedy for missed uptime under this SLA. ## 5\. Support response Support is 24/7 on ticket, chat, Telegram and Slack, with no priority tiers. Incident response for a node that is down begins immediately on detection by monitoring, whether or not you have reported it.
